What is phone tapping?
Phone tapping is a method of collecting information transmitted over the phone from individuals.
How to install?
In order for a phone-tap or key-logger software to work, it needs to be installed. This can be done:-
How does it work?
It works just like a keylogger software monitoring any computer. These applications (phone tapping and keylogger) have been around for quite sometime now. Once installed, the software can send every single information that your device will perform. For example, call logs, who you have contacted/or has contacted you, listen to live a conversation, detect and/or see the location, read text and picture messages (EVEN IF the holder of the phone erases them), e.t.c
Is it legal?
NOTE: Each country and area will have it specific rules governing surveillance technology on a whole. In such cases you must seek the advice from a legal professional prior to installation.
How do I get one?
The software are available online, either freely or with pay. The high end performing ones can be bought one time or pay monthly as needed. Search online and find out which one you think may do the job you want.
How do I protect myself from Mobile phone Tapping?
- Never leave your phone/computer unattended (if you get it back, examine it to see if there is any tampering done)
- Always put password on your phone/computer
- There are apps (iPhone or Android or Laptops) that can remotely switch the device off in case it gets lost.
- If somebody (partner, friend etc.) wants to use your device, examine it carefully after, to see if there is any tampering done.

In order for a phone-tap or key-logger software to work, it needs to be installed. This can be done:-
- Physically. By installing the hardware or software in a targeted device.
- Remotely. OTA (over-the-air) installation depending on the device.

Is it legal?
- Legally used by detectives or law enforcement and other legal protective agencies of some countries.
- Legal use by a company if they lend a company's phone to an employee just as they may do to a laptop, tablet or any other electronic gadget belonging to a company.
- Parents as well may use this technology to safeguard their child/ren whenever they see a reason to do so.

How do I know if someone is spying on me?
- If you have any reason to suspect that your phone is being tapped, then during a conversation listen carefully whether the volume of the phone is affected. There could be short beeps, which indicate that the phone is being tapped.
- Watch the cell phone when it is not in use. It can emit strange sounds when kept aside, which means that someone is trying to pick up transmissions.
- Feel the phone's battery temperature. If the phone feels warm despite not being in use, it may mean that it is sending out a transmission (be carefully not to confuse this with a phone that is constantly searching for network especially in remote areas where coverage is minimal, OR if the phone has multiple active apps running and/or updating. Those activities somehow do increase the phone temperature).
- Observe the battery life of your cell phone. The battery of your cell phone could be draining out faster than normal (here also be careful, to know if it's the network search or apps update/activity draining up the battery power, but if you already kinda know how your phone works, it may be easier to spot when all of a sudden it stats to over work/heat.)
- When trying to shut of the device, it delays (beware of some devices such as a computer with updates, it may take longer to shut down in order to finish the updating process).
- Monitor to see if there is any strange activity. For example, while turned on, does your phone screen continuously lit or the small light blinking even when you've programmed it to go out when you view a message/missed call/or any notification (remember there are some phones that continuously blink to indicate network availability), does your phone shut down-power up or install a program on its own? Such avtivities could also be a sign that someone else is controlling your device. (Don't confuse with when all the batter power is drained off, the phone will shut down on its own).
- If you are bold enough and have wisdom, investigate the person spying on you and talk to them, know why. You need the highest degree of calm to do this. Remember you are confronting someone who propably doesn't know that you were going to find out and probably hasn't prepared for this revelation OR you are facing someone who knows what they are doing and did it on purpose. You never know how a person may react even if you've lived/been friends for years and thought you know them well. You need to collect facts and data in order to back up your statements/discoveries (which to him/her will be accusations.)
- Report this person to the authority depending on the laws of the country you are living in or where the spying occurred.
- Turn off the internet of the phone/computer in use. This cuts off transmission to the spying device collecting your info.
- Disable your mobile network (useful if the person you are cheating with has a habit of calling you every time despite you telling him/her not to. These repeated calls can raise eyebrows to your spying spouse and start following the number).
- Completely turn off your phone/computer. The software won't work if the phone is turned off.
- Be smart. Worry free. By being smart, it means, buying an up-to-date device that can detect and disable a spying software. By being smart also it doesn't mean that you have to buy an up-to-date device each time it comes out. You can keep your old device as long as it performs the basic functions of calling and texting but can't be spied
